There was obviously something going on when the epitome of optimism Lloyd Irving was depressed for any length of time. Perhaps it was the cold, or just the weight of change bearing down on him - maybe it was that damn virus that kept resurrecting old guilts and inadequacies. Whatever the cause, things weren't right in Lloyd's world, and it was tearing him up inside.

Ugh, I feel like my brain's on that roller coaster in Altamira... This stupid truth virus is making me think about things I've never really thought about before. Mom's death, the village being destroyed, Marble, Ozette and Palmacosta... and the war Arche told me about... was there really nothing I could have done?

Sometimes I feel like I'm letting everyone down. I want to save everybody, but when I can't, I get scared. Scared that people will die and leave their loved ones alone... and leave me alone, just like...

...I need a nap or something. This is making me sick to my stomach.

Lloyd had planned on giving out his presents at Zelos' party, he really did. If that eggnog hadn't been so tasty, he might have been able to. Oh well, there was no time to make up for the past like the present!

If his friends had bothered to check their beds at Flanoir's inn, there would have been gifts laying on each other their pillows. For Zelos, a 2-pound box of candied melon rings. For Sheena, a long red scarf. For Kratos, a photo album and a camera (albeit a tad primitive compared to cameras of other worlds). Finally, for Colette, a giant stuffed dog.

Should they have wanted to see Lloyd after his great gift-delivering adventure, he would have been laying on his own bed at the inn, whittling away at a piece of wood.

[OOC: I'm assuming things here to get things moving. If you don't want it I'll edit or delete this post.]

Hey Zelos, did you ever decide on a date for the party? And, uh, wern't we gonna talk about... you know, that?

Also, Colette, I was thinking about what you said earlier, about how we should go flying sometime. You think after this whole holiday thing blows over, we could... you know, do that? Or whenever you wanted to do it is fine.

The city hadn't changed much, thought Lloyd as he passed through the Tethe'allan capital of Meltokio. Along the way to his friend Zelos' mansion, the boy had made a few stops for holiday gifts. As such, he struggled to carry one large bag and two smaller bags through the city streets. Thankfully his companion Noishe could carry the personal belongings he brought, otherwise he didn't think he could have made it across town.

He walked up to the door to the Wilder mansion, sat down the larger bag, and knocked. As usual, Sebastian greeted him, and after exchanging hellos and taking turns bringing inside the luggage, the butler agreed to go fetch Zelos.

In the meantime, Lloyd decided to relax, and plopped himself down on one of the Chosen's couches. He forgot how comfy this was.

Okay, I finally got down a list of what I'm getting everyone. Once we get to Meltokio, I'll have to do some shopping, won't I? I did bring enough money, right? Ah well, if I need more I can just enter in the arena. ...But I need money to enter, don't I...

I wonder if Colette's okay. Flying all the way to Altamira has to be tiring... but she's probably fine. Wonder if she found that plushie, too...

Speaking of which, Zelos! Colette made a detour so we couldn't get in while you were gone. We'll be there soon, though! Promise!

All right, I'm gonna try to do something productive today and make a to-do list! Let's do this!

- Get a present for Colette
- Get a present for Dad
- Get a present for Zelos (no, Zelos, nothing dirty for you.)
- If anyone else I know is coming to the party, get a present for them, too
- Figure out what food we're gonna bring to the party
- Talk to Zelos about getting the exspheres inside the Grand Tethe'alla Bridge
- Be awesome
- Talk to Colette about that flying thing

...Speaking of, how far do you think we are from Meltokio, Colette?

I'm really glad that Colette's coming with me to collect exspheres. It was starting to get really lonely without her.

But something's kind of bugging me. I mean, looking back on it, I know I've liked her for a long time. Dad and Zelos seemed to know that even before I did. I wonder why I didn't see for myself sooner? Maybe I was just so focused on reuniting the worlds and keeping her safe that I didn't really think about it...

That's just like me, isn't it? Doing something and not even thinking about why I did it. The professor's always said that I acted first and thought later. I think I just wanted to be able to actually not let someone down - to not lose anyone else because I couldn't do anything for them. Everyone who died because of me, like Marble and the other villagers, and Botta, everyone we wern't able to save... and Mom...

I wonder if you're proud of me, Mom... that there's actually someone I won't let down, like I let everyone else down. That I'm strong enough to not let what happened to you hppen to her. Maybe if I was older - if I was stronger, I could have saved you, too.

Whatever happens, though, I won't ever let Colette down. Ever. I'll make sure of it.

Lloyd stretched his arms out as he stepped through the gates of Iselia. It really had been too long, he realized, since he could just come home and be with his friends. He had especially missed Colette - speaking of which, he had something important to tell her, didn't he? About the reason he always wanted to look out for her, and -

His thoughts were interrupted by the growling of his stomach. He had hoped that his friend remembered to make lunch like she said she would, or else he might just collapse from starvation soon. After greeting a couple of villagers, he headed straight for the Brunel household.

I'm going back home tomorrow! I can't wait to see everyone again! Especially Colette. I was really starting to miss her. Well, okay, maybe I've missed her for a while...

I wonder if what Panchito said is really true... I mean, he knew a different Colette, but this - I dunno, it's probably nothing, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense... Maybe I should ask Zelos, or Dad, they might know what it is...
